Educational Qualifications
For Science Subjects:
- Candidates should have passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English from Education Boards recognised by Central, State and UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Computer Science/Instrumentation Technology/Information Technology) from Central, State and UT recognised Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Diploma Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course).
- Passed Two years Vocational Course with non-vocational subject viz. Physics and Mathematics from Education Boards recognised by Central, State and UT with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).
For Other than Science Subjects:
- Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects from Education Boards recognised by Central, State and UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- Passed two years Vocational Course from Education Boards recognised by Central, State and UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).
Essential Requirements:
- Education Boards recognised by Central, State and UT as on date of registration shall only be considered.
- Exact aggregate percentage of marks before decimal as written in the marks sheet shall only be considered (For example 49.99% should be taken as 49% and not to be rounded off to 50%).
- Candidates eligible for Science Subjects examination are also eligible for Other than Science Subjects and would be given an option of appearing in both examinations in one sitting.
Salary/Stipend
- 1st Year: ₹30,000/- per month (In Hand: ₹21,000/- + Contribution to Corpus Fund: ₹9,000/-)
- 2nd Year: ₹33,000/- per month (In Hand: ₹23,100/- + Contribution to Corpus Fund: ₹9,900/-)
- 3rd Year: ₹36,500/- per month (In Hand: ₹25,550/- + Contribution to Corpus Fund: ₹10,950/-)
- 4th Year: ₹40,000/- per month (In Hand: ₹28,000/- + Contribution to Corpus Fund: ₹12,000/-)
- Additional Benefits: Risk and Hardship allowances (as applicable), Dress and Travel allowances, Ration, Clothing, Accommodation and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) as per existing rules.
- Seva Nidhi Package: Approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs after four years (₹5.02 lakh candidate contribution + ₹5.02 lakh Government contribution, excluding interest).
- Insurance Cover: Non-contributory Life Insurance cover of ₹48 Lakhs for the duration of engagement period.

Selection Process
- Phase-I – Online Test: Objective type test (bilingual – English & Hindi except English paper)
- Science Subjects: 60 minutes – Physics, Mathematics and English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus
- Other than Science Subjects: 45 minutes – English and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA)
- Both (Science & Other than Science): 85 minutes – Physics, Mathematics, English and RAGA
- Marking Pattern: +1 mark for correct answer, 0 for unattempted, -0.25 for wrong answer
- Normalisation of Marks: Marks will be normalised to account for variation in difficulty levels across different sessions
- Phase-II Testing at ASC: State-wise shortlisted candidates will be called for:

General Information/Instructions
- Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates (male & female) are eligible. Candidates shall undertake not to marry during the four-year engagement period. Marriage during service will result in discharge.
- Pregnancy Policy: Female candidates shall undertake not to get pregnant during engagement period. Pregnancy will result in discharge and debar from Regular Cadre selection.
- Medical Standards:
- Height: Minimum 152 cms for male and female (relaxation for North East/hilly regions/Lakshadweep)
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age
- Chest: Male – minimum 77 cms with 5 cms expansion; Female – minimum 5 cms expansion
- Vision: 6/12 each eye correctable to 6/6, Colour Vision: CP-II
- Hearing: Normal – able to hear forced whisper from 6 meters
- Dental: Minimum 14 dental points with healthy gums
- No history of LASIK/PRK surgery
- Body Tattoo: Permanent body tattoos not permitted except on inner forearms, back of hand/palm, and tribal tattoos as per custom. Offensive tattoos prohibited.
- NDPS Policy: Zero tolerance to consumption of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances. Consumption is a reject criterion.
